California tree trimmer killed after fall into wood chipper – The Denver Post

MENLO PARK, Calif. (AP) — A tree trimmer was killed Tuesday in the San Francisco Bay Area after he fell into a wood chipper, authorities said.

The man, whose name has not been released, was working in the city of Menlo Park shortly before 1 p.m. when he fell, police said.

Officers arrived to find the man dead from injuries sustained after his fall. The state’s Division of Occupational Safety and Health is investigating the man’s death.

Menlo Park is about 25 miles (40.23 kilometers) south of San Francisco.

Eutelsat Q1 Revenue Rises; Backs FY22 Revenue View

Eutelsat Communications (EUTLF.PK), a French satellite operator, on Wednesday reported a rise in revenues for the first-quarter. In addition, the firm has reaffirmed its revenue target for the fiscal 2022-23.

For the quarter ended on September 30, the Paris-headquartered firm posted total revenue of 287.4 million euros, compared with 287.3 million euros of previous year. However, like-for-like revenue fell by 4.5 percent, compared with the same period of 2021-22.

Revenues from five total operating verticals stood at 290.5 million euros, versus last year’s 284.8 million euros. However, like-for-like revenues from the five operating verticals fell by 4.3 percent, compared with the same period of the previous fiscal.

Looking ahead, for the fiscal 2022-23, the company continues to project its revenues from the five operating verticals to be in the range of 1.150 billion euros to 1.180 billion euros.

Eutelsat intends to propose a 0.93 euro per share dividend in the upcoming AGM with a scrip option.

Page Group Plc Q3 Gross Profit Up 14.0% – Quick Facts

Page Group plc (MPGPF.PK,PAGE.L) reported third-quarter Group gross profit of 270.5 million pounds, an increase of 14.0% from last year. The Group noted that it exited the quarter strongly, delivering third month of gross profit in excess of 100 million pounds, albeit aided by the strengthening of the Dollar. Looking forward, Page Group expects full year operating profit to be in line with company compiled consensus of 204 million pounds.

Steve Ingham, CEO, PageGroup, said: “We delivered a good broad-based performance across the majority of our geographies, disciplines and brands, with record performances in nine countries despite the typically slower summer months. However, Greater China, 6% of the Group, continued to be impacted by lockdowns and restrictions, down 26% for the quarter.”

Gerresheimer Q3 Profit Rises, Reaffirms FY22 Outlook; Sees Growth In Mid Term

Gerresheimer AG (GRRMF.PK), a German provider of healthcare & beauty solutions and drug delivery systems, reported Wednesday that its third-quarter net income grew to 29.03 million euros from last year’s 20.26 million euros. Earnings per share were 0.87 euro, up from last year’s 0.61 euro.

Adjusted net income was 37.9 million euros or 1.15 euros per share, compared to 31.6 million euros or 0.97 euro per share a year ago.

Adjusted EBITDA increased 21 percent from last year to 90.5 million euros. Organic growth was 13.3 percent.

Revenues climbed 23.8 percent to 473.0 million euros from last year’s 382.0 million euros. Organic revenue growth was 17.4 percent supported by continued strong demand for High Value Solutions

Looking ahead, Dietmar Siemssen, CEO of Gerresheimer, said, “We are on track to deliver on our financial year 2022 guidance, and we are clearly committed to our mid-term targets.”

Gerresheimer continues to expect 2022 organic revenue growth of at least 10 percent and high single-digit organic growth in adjusted EBITDA and adjusted earnings per share.

For the mid term, the company expects high single-digit organic revenue growth, organic adjusted EBITDA margin of 23 percent to 25 percent, and adjusted earnings per share growth of at least 10 percent p.a.

Gold Prices Trade Mixed Ahead Of Key US Data

Gold prices traded mixed on Wednesday and the dollar eased slightly after media reports indicated that the Bank of England is considering an extension to emergency bond-buying program when it ends on Friday.

Spot gold rose 0.3 percent to $1,670.83 per ounce, while U.S. gold futures were down half a percent at $1,677.30.

The Financial Times reported that BoE Governor Andrew Bailey has signaled the likelihood of extending bond buying program to prevent volatility in the market.

The report came after a warning from the BoE chief that the central bank would stop buying bonds that could put some pension schemes in trouble.

“You’ve got three days left now and you’ve got to sort it out,” Andrew Bailey told pension funds on Tuesday.

As recession risks mount, investors now await U.S. inflation data and minutes from the Fed’s September meeting due this week for clues on the pace of future interest rate hikes.

Minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee meeting, which was held last month, will be released at 2:00 pm ET later in the day while the latest U.S. inflation numbers will be out on Thursday.

U.S. producer prices for September will be released later in the New York session.
