Stocks slipped Monday, paring historic gains from last week’s rally, as investors prepare for the start of corporate earnings season. The Dow closed down 1.4%, or 329 points. The S&P 500 finished down 1% and the Nasdaq finished up 0.5%. JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Wells Fargo (WFC) and Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) are among the first companies to start off earnings season, reporting numbers on Tuesday.
Covid-19 has infected more than 1.85 million people and killed at least 114,000 worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Cyclists in Saskatoon are calling on the city to open up more space for people and bikes, claiming there isn’t enough room on city sidewalks to walk or ride while social distancing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

China reports 89 new coronavirus cases on April 13, 86 imported
SHANGHAI (Reuters) – China reported 89 new coronavirus cases on April 13, down from 108 the previous day, the health authority said on Tuesday.
Of the total, 86 were imported, down from 98 a day earlier, the National Health Commission said.
China’s state broadcaster had reported earlier that 79 of the day’s imported cases were in the northeast province of Heilongjiang, which shares a border with Russia.
The number of total confirmed cases in China now stands at 82,249. Its death toll from the pandemic stands at 3,341, with no new deaths on April 13.

China's Heilongjiang reports 79 new imported coronavirus cases: CCTV
SHANGHAI (Reuters) – The northeastern Chinese border province of Heilongjiang reported 79 new imported coronavirus cases on April 13, state broadcaster CCTV said on Tuesday.
All the new cases were Chinese citizens who travelled back from Russia, the report said. Of the total, 65 were originally recorded as asymptomatic cases.
1 new COVID-19 case in Interior Health region connected to West Kelowna nursery outbreak
One new case of COVID-19 has been identified in the Interior Health region of British Columbia since Saturday.
It brings the total number of confirmed cases in the health region to 136.

Coronavirus: Kelowna, B.C. golfers tee up while social distancing
Despite being a non-essential service, some golf courses in Kelowna are reopening to provide a little bit of reprieve while physically distancing.
“In the last three weeks, I have had more people thank me for being open than I have in 30 years in business,” said Robert Anderson, Kelowna Driving Range owner.
