Foreigner Musical ‘Jukebox Hero’ To Premiere In Toronto

Jukebox Hero: The Musical, a collection of Foreigner‘s classic hits, will be premiered at the Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto on Wednesday night.

Foreigner guitarist Mick Jones said the musical’s story deals with the current socio-economic state of things in America.

“It brings a realization of [what’s] happened to people’s lives — the chaos, the uncertainty, the loss of jobs, the whole imbalance in America, and in the world,” he told ABC Radio.

The musical gets its title from Foreigner’s 1981 hit “Juke Box Hero.”

Juke Box Hero talks about the dream of success as a rock lead singer or a guitar player, according to Jones.

Ian La Frenais and Dick Clement wrote the musical.

Jukebox Hero, a stage musical that works in 20 songs from the Foreigner catalogue, runs through February 24 at the Ed Mirvish Theatre.
