Air freight forwarder Skyways Air Services on Monday said it has joined hands with budget carrier SpiceJet for transporting COVID-19 vaccine across India.

Under the collaboration, Skyways will provide cold chain transportation and storage along with dedicated last-mile connectivity, while SpiceJet will provide connectivity across its pan-India network with full temperature mapping controls, a release said.

The two partners have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to this effect, Skyways Air Services Pvt Ltd said.

In addition, Skyways will also provide custom brokering services, wherever required in India, Germany and the U.S., it said.

"We are working to enhance our readiness and preparing to meet the impending demand for an effective vaccine distribution in the country. Currently, we are developing apt capacities with our carrier partners," said Yashpal Sharma, Managing Director, Skyways Group.

This strategic association with Spicejet is bound to add substantial value to Skyways customers in terms of available capacity for vaccine transportation not just within India but also to international markets, he said.

"Together we will be able to do a ‘Producer to the Vaccination Depots’ movement seamlessly," Mr. Sharma added.

Suspect Detained in Chinese Video Game Tycoon’s Death, Police Say

Beijing (AP) — Police in Shanghai say they have detained a suspect in the death by possible poisoning of the billionaire founder of a Chinese video game company that makes films based on the popular science fiction novel “The Three-Body Problem.”

Lin Qi, 39, died on Christmas Day after being hospitalized, according to his company, Yoozoo Games Co., also known as Youzu Interactive.

A police statement said a 39-year-old coworker, identified only by the surname Xu, was detained. The statement said the victim was hospitalized Dec. 17 and diagnosed with possible poisoning but gave no other details.

An employee who answered the phone Monday at the Shanghai police press office said there was no additional information to release.

The business magazine Caixin, citing unidentified industry sources, said the suspect is an employee of Yoozoo’s film division and was working on “The Three-Body Problem.”

Yoozoo also is know for its game “Game of Thrones: Winter Is Coming,” based on the popular TV series.

Lin ranked No. 870 among China’s richest entrepreneurs with a net worth of 6.8 billion yuan ($1 billion), according to Hurun Report, which follows China’s wealthy.

Oman Banks Get More Flexibility in Financing Stock Investments

Oman’s central bank said it approved a recommendation that would provide more flexibility for banks in financing stock market investments.

The regulator’s board reviewed the prospects and challenges facing the economy and approved a recommendation to amend some of the provisions in granting of loans against shares.

“The amendment is expected to provide greater flexibility and enhanced opportunities to banks in financing investments in shares or against the security of shares,” according to a statement posted on its website. It didn’t provide further details.

The regulator also said banking sector in Oman was “comfortably placed” to ensure its continued support to the economy.

Shares of Live Oak Acquisition Corp. (LOAK), a special purpose acquisition company, are rising more than 23 percent or $5.12 in Monday’s morning trade at $27.27, after hitting a new 52-week high of $28.00.

In early October, Danimer Scientific, a bioplastics company focused on the development of biodegradable materials, and Live Oak Acquisition, said they have agreed for a business combination that would result in Danimer Scientific becoming a public company. Upon closing of the transaction, the combined company will be renamed Danimer Scientific and is expected to remain listed on the NYSE under a new ticker symbol.

The proposed business combination will be voted upon by Live Oak Acquisition stockholders at a virtual special meeting scheduled to be held today.

Live Oak Acquisition has traded in a range of $4.70 to $28.00 in the past 52 weeks.

Stock Alert: Myovant Sciences Surges To New 52-week High

Shares of Myovant Sciences Ltd. (MYOV) are gaining more than 28 percent or $6.44 in Monday’s morning trade at $29.19, after hitting a new 52-week high of $30.90.

Monday, Myovant Sciences and Pfizer Inc. (PFE) said they will collaborate to develop and commercialize orgovyx (relugolix) in oncology and women’s health in the U.S. and Canada in a deal valued up to $4.2 billion. Pfizer will receive an exclusive option to commercialize relugolix in oncology outside the U.S. and Canada, excluding certain Asian countries.

Relugolix is a once-daily, oral gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) receptor antagonist that reduces testicular testosterone and ovarian estradiol. Testicular testosterone is a hormone known to stimulate the growth of prostate cancer, while ovarian estradiol is a hormone known to stimulate the growth of uterine fibroids and endometriosis.

Myovant Sciences has traded in a range of $5.98 to $30.90 in the past 52 weeks.

LONDON (AFP/REUTERS) – Manchester City’s Premier League visit to Everton on Monday was postponed after multiple new positive tests for coronavirus were detected at City, the club confirmed.

“Based on strong medical advice the Premier League, in consultation with both clubs, have decided to postpone the fixture,” City said in a statement.

City returned a number of new positive cases for coronavirus after confirming four positives last week, which included striker Gabriel Jesus and defender Kyle Walker.
