A man facing a battery charge in Florida didn’t do himself any favors Wednesday when he slugged a public defender in the head during a court appearance.

William Green got out of his seat at the Broward County bond court, approached the lawyer — who was looking down at papers — and delivered the haymaker, which knocked her to the floor.

The sudden attack left everyone in the room in shock, video posted by WPLG shows.

A defendant who was at the podium ran out of the way as corrections officers tackled Green.

Judge Jackie Powell asked the stunned attorney if she was all right before calling a recess.

A spokesman for the Broward County public defender’s office said the lawyer was taken to Broward Health Medical Center.

According to court records, Green, 27, was arrested Tuesday on a battery charge.
