Ex-Florida spa owner denies selling access to Trump
The former owner of a Florida spa mired in a prostitution scandal — a frequent visitor to Mar-a-Lago and GOP donor — denied reports that she sold access to Trump to Chinese business officials.
Li “Cindy” Yang told NBC News she’s been targeted with accusations that she’s a Chinese agent only because of her ethnicity and politics.
“I’m Republican and I’m Chinese. That’s the reason the Democrats want to check me,” Yang told the network in an interview set to air Wednesday on “NBC Nightly News” at 6:30 p.m.
“I love Americans. I love our president. I don’t do anything wrong,” she insisted.
Yang spoke out after top Democrats released a letter calling on the FBI to initiate counterintelligence and criminal probes into the Florida-based businesswoman whose close ties to Trump were revealed after the arrest of 50 individuals who were allegedly part of a prostitution ring operating out of a series of day spas posing emerged earlier this month.
New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was among those charged in late February with soliciting a prostitute at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter. Kraft has denied the charges, and Yang, who sold the place years ago, said there was never any prostitution when she was the owner.
