Emilia Clarke Shouts Out RBG On Oscars Stage

Emilia Clarke graced the stage during the 91st Academy Awards on Sunday, and she couldn’t help but take the opportunity to shout out the one, the only Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Before she introduced Jennifer Hudson, who performed a song from the RBG documentary, she made sure to honor the MVP.

“Khaleesi has nothing on her,” the Game of Thrones star said. “If you ever want to borrow the dragons, ring me.”

Ginsburg, the 85-year-old supreme court justice who recently returned to her post after a successful lung cancer surgery, is an outspoken supporter of women’s rights.

Fellow Oscar nominee Diane Warren attended the event with a figurine of Ginsburg in her pocket. Warren was nominated for Best Original Song for “I’ll Fight.”

Let’s hope RBG was watching.

The 91st Academy Awards took place Sunday, February 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. For the first time since 1989, there was no host. Instead, Maya Rudolph, Tina Fey, and Amy Poehler opened the show and stars took turns presenting awards.
