Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale to star in ‘Medea’ together
Real-life couple Rose Byrne and Bobby Cannavale will star in “Medea” — Simon Stone’s update of Euripides’ Greek tragedy.
The show will premiere at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in January.
The Brooklyn-based pair may have two small kids and a happy home — but they will have to dig for angst, as the play is about a woman who takes revenge on a husband who leaves her, murdering his new wife as well as their own children.

Katie Holmes stops by Long Island daiquiri bar

Drinks at the spot include the Soggy Dollar Painkiller, Jungle Bird and Miami Vice.
But a source close to the star told us that she and a pal were taking the Fire Island ferry, which is near the watering hole.
Venice Film Festival under fire for lack of female directors

Its new competition lineup has just two women directors out of 21 films.
Then again, that’s twice the number from last year, Variety pointed out.
Meanwhile, the fest will close this year with controversial Roman Polanski’s latest film, “An Officer and a Spy.”
Venice chief Alberto Barbera told the Hollywood Reporter: “We are here to see works of art, not to judge the person behind it.”
There were rumors Woody Allen’s new film could screen, but Barbera said he hadn’t watched it.
