The awards, now in their 13th year, are run in conjunction with the Business Journalist Association of Ireland (BJAI) and sponsored by Bank of Ireland and aim to honour excellence in Irish business journalism across print, broadcast and online.

In the Interview of the Year category, Irish Independent Senior Business Reporter John Mulligan was shortlisted for his interview with Joachim Lang, head of the German employers body Bundesverband derdeutschenIndustrie; and ‘Sunday Independent’ Business Editor Samantha McCaughren was shortlisted for her interview with Primark CEO Paul Marchant.
Irish Independent Business Reporter Ellie Donnelly is shortlisted in the Upcoming Journalist of the year category, as is Sean Pollock who recently joined the ‘Sunday Independent’.
The awards are adjudicated by an independent panel of judges comprising business, journalism and academic leaders and the shortlisted also features journalists from RTÉ, the ‘Irish Times’, the ‘Sunday Times’ and the Journal.ie.
Winners will be announced at a gala luncheon at the Westbury Hotel on Monday, December 2, with each category winner receiving a €1,000 cash prize.
