Brogans fuels Ryanair with shortbread

Family-owned Brogans Bakery has agreed a partnership with Ryanair to sell its Kerrygold Irish Butter Shortbread range on the airline’s flights.

Founded in 1967 by Liam and Patricia Brogan, today the business employs almost 40 people.

It also has deals with a number of other major retailers, including SuperValu, Tesco, Dunnes Stores, Spar, and Waitrose in the UK.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Partnering with a global brand like Ryanair showcases us to millions of new consumers across Europe.

“It’s great to see Ryanair and other Irish companies who are trading internationally supporting the Irish food sector.

“The provenance and heritage of Irish food, coupled with the brand value of companies like Ryanair, adds to the customer experience.”

Commenting on the launch of the new partnership, Ryanair said its customers and crew “have already responded very positively” to the biscuit brand.
