Outgoing Muis president Alami Musa looks back on 18 years
SINGAPORE – It was a challenging time for the Muslim community in Singapore when Mr Mohammad Alami Musa joined the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) as president in 2003.
It was two years after the Sept 11 terror attacks in the United States, which was followed by the arrest in Singapore of members of the clandestine Jemaah Islamiah (JI) regional terror network.
