HONG KONG – If the old Hong Kong was a rebel, wild and free, the new one will be reined in – the result of a tumultuous two years during which there were unprecedented arrests and unrest, and an exodus of those in the opposition camp if they were not already in jail.

The Legislative Council (LegCo) election on Dec 19 will give an idea of how different the new Hong Kong will be.
