Some fans of Taylor Swift have reportedly paid more than $20,000 to see her perform live this summer. And now that Beyoncé’s tour has kicked off in the United States, the headlines about sky-high concert prices keep coming.

But in this audio essay, the Opinion columnist and economist Paul Krugman makes the case that live music today is actually quite a bargain.
