The woman who allegedly spit on an 8-year-old Jewish boy outside of a Brooklyn synagogue before telling him and his younger siblings ‘Hitler should have killed you all’ was arrested on Friday, authorities in New York City said.

Christina Darling, a 21-year-old from Brooklyn, was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment and menacing, both as hate crimes, and acting in a manner that could injure a child, the NYPD Hate Crimes unit said in a tweet.

At about 12.30pm on January 14, Darling approached a group of children outside an Orthodox synagogue and began yelling at them, going off on an anti-Semitic rant.

When she got directly in front of the children, who were 2, 7 and 8-years-old, she began shouting ‘anti-Jewish statements,’ according to authorities.

‘Hitler should have killed you all,’ Darling told the children. ‘I’ll kill you and know where you live.’

The disturbing incident, caught on surveillance video, shows Darling wearing an orange sweatshirt, black leggings and black UGG boots.

Darling, a psychology student at St Francis College, has been shamed by her fellow students, a petition on Change.org shows.

‘I urge President Miguel Martinez-Saenz to stand by his promises and denounce this horrifying act of racism, bigotry, and harassment against the Jewish people. If appropriate disciplinary action isn’t taken, an egregious precedent will be set,’ the petition reads.

The block the attack took place on receives a good deal of foot traffic, so locals plastered posters all around to keep neighbors aware of the attack, but it’s unclear if the posters are what helped police identify Darling as the attacker.
