A diner has been seriously hurt after a car crashed through a restaurant window throwing people from their seats and pinning one under the vehicle.

Six people were injured in the terrifying accident which was caught CCTV as diner sat down to lunch in Spring Hill, Florida.

Within seconds of the crash numerous eye-witnesses called the emergency services, with one telling the operator: "There’s been a car that’s crashed right through the restaurant."

The footage shows the car crashing through a table, where two people were sat in a booth by the window, at Beef O’Brady’s at around 2pm on Tuesday.

A woman in the booth can be seen flying through the air as the car smashes into her, reports say she walked away with just a broken wrist.

According to Fox 13 in the USA, the most seriously injured was Nancy Nelson who was stuck under the car when it came to a stop in the diner.

She remains in intensive care in hospital with broke ribs and a head injuries.

Waitress Theraisa Butler said: “Being that it was my table and I was just there seconds ago, knowing you could’ve been pinned or killed, it’s terrifying.

“I watch the windows a lot more than I used to. Every little noise will trigger something."

Kristine Boggs who was in the restaurant said: "Very blessed, very blessed I absolutely am, I’m hoping for the best for everybody else, too."

Florida Highway Patrol are investigating the accident and say driver 65-year-old Barbara Markowski, lost control, crossed two lanes of traffic, swiped two vehicles, and then slammed into the building.

They are still trying to find out the cause of her actions.

Mrs Markowski was also hosptialised.
