A vengeful wife loaded her husband’s mobile phone with sickening images of child porn and then called police in an effort to frame him. 

Cherie Renee Bolton, 34, of Siloam Springs pleaded guilty last week in Benton County Circuit Court in the US to possessing and distributing child abuse images and filing a false police report.

She avoided jail but was sentenced to six years probation following her confession, the Democratic Gazette reported.

Police in Arkansas charged the woman after discovering inconsistencies with her story.

The local paper said she admitted framing her husband by putting the illicit images on his phone and falsely telling police he sexually assaulted a girl.

A circuit judge on Monday ordered Bolton to register as a sex offender.

Siloam Springs police said they investigated claims she made about her husband raping a 13-year-old girl.

Authorities said Bolton showed investigators pictures that she planted on his phone and claimed her husband was entirely responsible.

Her husband told investigators he had earlier kicked Bolton out of the home and denied her allegations sexual assault, records show.

Bolton eventually told police she was high on methamphetamines when she downloaded the the abuse images he put on his phone, according to court records.

Her guilty plea – reached through a deal with prosecutors – requires Bolton to stay on probation for the entire six years.

Online court records show Bolton hasn't been charged or convicted with any other crimes in Arkansas.

She initially faced a maximum 10-year prison sentence for the child pornography charge.
