Planes carry 'worst president ever' banners over Donald Trump's new home
Two planes were spotted carrying ‘unwelcome home’ messages above Donald Trump’s new residence.
The 45th president of the US was succeeded by Democrat Joe Biden last week and has officially moved out of the White House.
But it appears he has not received the warmest welcome from his new neighbours in Florida.
Aircraft were spotted near Mr Trump’s new home carrying banners which read ‘worst president ever’ and ‘Trump you pathetic loser go back to Moscow’.
They were seen flying over the Mar-a-Lago resort, which is Mr Trump’s new area of residence.
It is not yet known who is behind the stunts.
According to LadBible, one resident said: ‘Nobody that I’ve spoken to is looking forward to him coming back to Palm Beach.
‘Quite honestly, I think that whether you’re a Trump supporter or not, I don’t think that there are many people that in good conscience can justify what happened on January 6, and I think that most – most – people hold him at least partially responsible.’
But others were very keen to welcome the ex-president back to Florida, with a number of supporters lining the streets.
They were dancing and cheering, with many waving flags and wearing t-shirts with ‘Trump’ written on them.
Signs which read ‘F**k Biden’ were held up, as well as ones declaring ‘Trump 2024’.
It is not yet known whether Trump intends to run in 2024, or whether he will be allowed to.
Upon his exit from the White House, Mr Trump told the crowd: ‘I will always fight for you, I will be watching, I will be listening and I will tell you that the future of this country has never been better… We like you, we love you, we will be back in some form.’
He also said ‘have a good life’ before the classic YMCA tune by Village People was played.
The former president’s second impeachment trial is set to begin on February 8 as he stands accused of inciting the riots at the US Capitol on January 6, which claimed the lives of five people.
