Pigeons with tiny hats glued to their heads spotted in Las Vegas

Bizarre pictures show pigeons sporting tiny cowboy hats glued to their heads – prompting cruelty fears.

The images, taken in Las Vegas, have been widely shared on Twitter and Facebook .

One user shared a video of the birds, who have been nicknamed Cluck Norris – in a red hat – and Coo-lamity Jane – in a pink one.

The man who posted it wrote: "These f***** birds have hats on, bro."

The clip has been viewed more than two million times, and there has been speculation about a third pigeon in a brown hat being seen.

It is not known who was responsible for putting the glasses on the pigeons, but animal rights groups say they are deeply concerned.

And she said she hopes there is no lasting damage to the birds.

She stated: “Hopefully it’s not impeding his vision

“It’s a living being. Every living being has a right to his own life.”

Her organisation has been trying to catch the pigeons so they can take the hats off them.

But because of their unusual appearance people have been overkeen to feed them – making trapping them particularly difficult.

However police do not seem to be overly worried, telling the New York Times it "does not appear to be a police matter at this time".

Kassandra Flores, who lives in Las Vegas, said she saw the pigeons on social media, but did not know they were real until Cluck landed in her garden.

He flew away before he was able to catch him, she told CNN.
