People are pointing out obvious flaw with Victoria’s Secret "plus size" angel

Victoria's Secret is infamous for a few things – their genetically blessed supermodels (or "Angels") being one of them.

Like 25-year-old Hungarian model Barbara Palvin.

Palvin herself was understandably excited, taking to Instagram to sweetly make the announcement : "I don’t know where to begin but I'll try.

"I never thought it would happen and it has exceeded all my expectations. I'm very excited to announce that I'm officially a Victoria Secret ANGEL! Thank you for believing in me."

However, the news has taken on a rather sinister turn, with Victoria's Secret being praised for signing a "plus size" angel.

Of course, anyone with eyes can see that Palvin is not exactly what you'd describe as plus size.

In fact, at 5'9" with a 24-inch waist, she's far from it.

Pro-skinny Facebook group "Superficial Doll" described her as the token "plus size" model among its more slender models (Gigi and Bella Hadid , Kendall Jenner etc).

The group posted images if Palvin along with the announcement: "Barbara Palvin is FINALLY the first plus size Victoria's Secret Angel. She DESERVES it."

Other social media users were quick to point out the skewed logic with the statement.

"If she’s plus size then I'm truck size," one woman joked.

Another warned: "Victoria’s Secret never called her a plus sized model. People just assume she is because they're praising her for having more curves than the typical Angels."

It's a dangerous assumption to make indeed, with another woman pointing out:

"No wonder girls and women suffer from such bad body insecurities! She is a size 10 at best (U.S. 6) and that’s nowhere near plus size

Intriguingly, Palvin did model for the brand back in 2012, but was later dropped, with rumours spreading that her weight had been the reason.
