Ohio high school locked down after 100-person fight with stabbing rumors

A high school in Ohio has been locked down after a reported brawl involving as many as 100 people.

Initial reports around the fight at Westland High School in Columbus on Wednesday morning indicated that several people were stabbed and at least one person was taken to a hospital, according to the Daily Mail.

However, law enforcement officials said there were no confirmed stabbings or shootings.

Multiple people were detained, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. A spokesperson for the office said one student was hit with pepper spray and transported to a hospital for decontamination and did not suffer serious injuries.

Deputies responded to a call regarding a brawl with a ‘large crowd’.

‘The situation was quickly brought under control and the school is now secure,’ the sheriff’s office tweeted.
