Officer found guilty of threatening teens with arrest if they didn’t run naked

A former police officer has been found guilty of forcing a young man and young woman to run naked down the road to avoid arrest.

Ex-Miccosukee officer Michael Martinez found marijuana and alcohol in the teenagers' vehicle after he caught them running a stop sign on Alligator Alley, Florida, US, in August, 2016.

Remy Riley and Kyle Shoulta, both then aged 18, were offered a deal by officer Martinez – to run naked down a road or go to jail.

Shoulta testified at the Broward County court and according to Fox News , he said: "I was given a choice of go to jail or run, so I took the choice to run naked."

Riley also told the jury: "I took my pants off. I took my shirt off.

"I kind of looked at him like, 'Is this enough?' He's like, 'That's it?'"

She took off her underwear and bra and was told to 'move your hands away from your body so I can see'.

A spokeswoman from the Broward State Attorney's Office added: "Martinez also tried to solicit a sexual act from the young woman."

Martinez was fired a year after the incident. He was arrested last year.

The jury on Thursday convicted Martinez, 30, of Hialeah, of four felonies – two counts of extortion and two counts of unlawful compensation, Broward state attorney Mike Satz said, reported the Sun Sentinel .
