Nurse who 'killed pregnant mum and five others' in crash charged with murder
An intensive care unit nurse has been charged with six counts of murder after a crash in Los Angeles that killed a pregnant mother, her unborn baby, her one-year-old son and four others.
Nicole L Linton, 37, could face up to 90 years in prison if convicted in the 100mph crash on Thursday.
Linton was discharged from a hospital on Sunday and is being held on a $9million bond at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, California.
There is no evidence that Linton was driving under the influence of alcohol, as was initially reported, according to Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón.
Asherey Ryan, 23, who was eight-and-a-half months pregnant, her one-year-old son Alonzo Luchiano Quintero, her unborn child’s father Renald were killed in the fiery crash after the car split in half, family members said. The three were on their way to Ryan’s doctor appointment for a pregnancy check-up.
