Mum ‘left toddler son in car in 30C for social services meeting about parenting’

A mum is accused of leaving her toddler son in a hot car for two hours – as she attended a social services meeting about her parenting skills.

Jennifer Ost, 27, reportedly left her son alone during the meeting as the temperature inside the vehicle reached 30C.

The boy was found watching a film on Ost's mobile phone, police say.

Ost had been attending an interview in relation to her other, newborn son at Anderson Community Hospital, Indiana.

She was summoned by authorities to explain why she'd checked the four-day-old baby out of hospital against medical advice, it's claimed.

During the appointment Ost was "evasive belligerent and cursing", according to court documents.

Almost two hours into the interview, police received a call to say the boy had been spotted inside a vehicle.

When officers arrived they found a little boy climbing back and forth in the vehicle and watching a movie on a cell phone.

All of the windows in the vehicle were up.

Officers checked the car’s license plate and discovered it belonged to Ost, Fox6 reported .
