Moment policemen attends noise complaint – and finds 28 stone bear inside bin
Incredible footage has captured the moment two brave police officers responded to a noise complaint only to find a 28 stone bear inside a bin.
They ended up rescuing the huge black bear after he got himself trapped in a dumpster.
The bear, known as 'T-Shirt' to the locals in Kings Beach, California, US, got inside a locked a silver bin after climbing through a small square opening while scavenging for food on early Monday.
Dashcam footage posted on the Facebook page of Placer County Sheriff's Office shows T-Shirt pops his head over the edge of the bin as he tries to climb out of the bin.
Deputy Joe Bertoni and his partner Dan Staley found themselves on a 'rescue mission' after responding to a noise complaint at 3am.
Bertoni recognised T-Shirt by its big white spot across the chest and said: "That is T-Shirt. It's OK."
When T-Shirt retreated back into the dumpster, they moved into action, using tree branches to loosen the latch and lift up one side of the metal lid.
They ran to a safe distance and watched as T-Shirt lifted the other half of the metal lid.
The officers cheered in the background: "There we go. There he goes.
"Come on, attaboy. Good boy!"
They honked a loud horn and T-Shirt disappeared in the dark.
Sheriff's Sgt Dave Hunt told the Los Angeles Times : "He's not a friendly bear by any means. I think he was just tired."
He also reviewed the video and said it looks like T-Shirt has gained weight, given that hibernation season is approaching.
"They're fattening up. how he got in is beyond me. If he was a little bit skinnier, he could have gotten out. He's a pretty big, good boy."
