Melania Trump links arms with serviceman instead of Donald amid divorce rumors

Melania Trump was snapped linking arms with a US serviceman instead of her husband Donald amid claims she will divorce him as soon as he leaves the White house.

The First Lady of the United States was photographed holding onto the military man at Arlington Cemetery in Virginia on Tuesday. Mrs Trump stood under an umbrella held by the man, just a few feet away from her husband, at a ceremony to mark Veterans’ Day.

Onlookers believe Mrs Trump likely held onto the serviceman to try and maintain her balance while walking across slippery stone slabs in a pair of skyscraper heels. President Trump also had his own military man to carry his umbrella.

The public appearance came as the president’s former aide Omorosa Manigault Newman has claimed the first lady will file for divorce as soon as they exit the White House in January.

Newman said: ‘Melania is counting every minute until he is out of office and she can divorce. If Melania were to try to pull the ultimate humiliation and leave while he’s in office, he would find a way to punish her.’

Wednesday’s commemoration was President Trump’s first public outing since Joe Biden was named winner of the presidential election on Saturday.

The Trumps’ marriage has been a source of fascination throughout their time in office. Mrs Trump has repeatedly been seen swatting her husband’s hand away, and appeared to pull away from his grasp at the final presidential debate in October.

She famously traveled to President Trump’s State of the Union address alone in January 2018, becoming the only first lady in modern history to arrive separately to her husband.

Mrs Trump did so amid resurfaced claims about President Trump’s infidelity with porn star Stormy Daniels. The president and the adult actress reportedly had a one night stand at a Lake Tahoe charity golf tournament in 2006, a year after he married Melania, who is his third wife.

Mrs Trump had given birth to the couple’s son Barron shortly before the alleged fling took place. President Trump has repeatedly denied that it ever happened.

But others close to the first lady insist she is supportive of her husband, and that although they live largely separate lives, the couple do enjoy their limited time together.
