Joe Biden touts 850,000 jobs added in June which exceeded expectations

President Joe Biden on Friday morning touted the June jobs report that revealed 850,000 jobs were added, exceeding economists’ expectations.

Nonfarm payrolls rose 850,000 for last month, according to the report released by the Labor Department, which was better than the Dow Jones estimate of 706,000 and the upwardly revised 583,000 in May.

The hiring leap was the US economy’s strongest gain in 10 months.

‘This is historic progress, pulling our economy out of the worst crisis in over 110 years,’ Biden said in a briefing from the White House.

However, the unemployment rate rose slightly to 5.9%, according to the Labor Department.
