Joe Biden approves new US troops to Europe amid Russia threat to Ukraine
President Joe Biden on Wednesday morning formally approved sending additional US troops to eastern Europe as Russia continues to threaten Ukraine. The deployments will reportedly occur ‘in the coming days’.
The deployments will include about 2,000 American troops to Poland and a few thousand more to Romania and other southeastern NATO nations, US officials told CNN.
Biden’s move is a show of support to NATO allies feeling threatened by Russia’s military actions near Ukraine, according to the officials.
