'Hit and run driver filmed drunk behind the wheel while on bail' freed yet again

A suspected hit and run driver filmed boozing and smoking weed behind the wheel after being freed on bail has been released from jail for a second time.

Gabriela Estrada, 22, appeared in a Facebook Live post last month which showed her swigging liquid from a container concealed in a paper bag while driving, it is alleged.

Despite the clip being filmed almost a year after the pending hit-and-run case, she has since been freed from jail for a second time, records show, despite her bail being raised from $75,000 to $100,000.

Estrada, from Waco in Texas, was also reportedly seen taking a puff of weed from a cigarette handed to her by her boyfriend, who is said to be a local gang member. She is said to have struck Grace O’Heeron, 20, while O’Heeron was out walking last December, but allegedly fled the scene without offering help.

O’Heeron was left with severe injuries as a result of the hit-and-run.

Estrada’s antics came to light after police were tipped off about the seven minute Facebook video, which was played during Tuesday’s court hearing.

Estrada is accused of further breaching the terms of her bail after she allegedly contacted Grace’s dad Pete to try and garner sympathy from him, in the hopes of being shown mercy by investigators.

Pete O’Heeron said Estrada was apologetic, the Waco Tribune-Herald reported. He said he replied to remind her that she’d almost killed his daughter, and to say the best thing Estrada could do was take responsibility for her actions.

Estrada’s new bail terms also stipulate that she must wear a drug patch, aimed at stopping the suspected hit-and-run driver trying to cheat a drugs tests.

She faces charges including intoxication assault, aggravated assault and failure to stop and render aid.
