Hamilton police remind St. Patrick’s Day party-goers to celebrate responsibly

If you’re planning to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day this weekend, please stay safe and drink responsibly.

That’s the message from Hamilton police.

Police are stepping up patrols in the community, especially around the McMaster University campus, to discourage any disruptive party-goers this weekend.

They say there will be a zero tolerance approach to large parties or open alcohol in the streets.

For those who fail to comply, police say there could be a dent in their pot of gold, with hefty fines for excessive noise or public intoxication.

Members of the public are encouraged to contact police in the event of disruptive behavior caused by excessive partying.

For police emergencies, call 911. Any non-emergencies can be reported at 905-549-4925.
