Police say four people have been killed in an overnight shooting at a bar in downtown Kansas City.

The force say nine people were shot in the incident on 10th and Central Avenue in the early hours of this morning, local-time.

Kansas Police say the suspect is still at large.

NBC reports the suspect walked into a bar and began shooting.

"9 shot, 4 dead at 10th and Central Ave," Kansas City Police tweeted at around 3am Sunday, local time.

ABC reports the suspect has been described as a Hispanic male.

The force told US media no information about the suspect was immediately available.
