Girl, 3, kidnapped from birthday party after 'couple lured her with sweets'
A three-year-old girl is missing after police say she was kidnapped outside a birthday party by a man and woman who may have ‘lured her with candy’.
Kamille ‘Cupcake’ McKinney was last seen at the party at around 8.30pm on Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama, US, police said.
Officers have issued an amber alert and say the youngster is believed to be in ‘extreme danger’.
It is believed the little girl was abducted by a man and woman in a dark black or blue SUV or possibly an older model Toyota with a tan bumper.
Police later released pictures of a Toyota Sequoia and a man they wanted to speak to after allegations a couple were seen ‘enticing children with candy’.
Birmingham Police Sgt Rodarius Mauldin believes the sighting is connected to Kamille’s alleged abduction.
He told CNN an SUV had been located but officers are still searching for the missing girl.
The sgt said: ‘Our main objective is Kamille comes back home safe to her parents.’
Kamille’s father Dominic McKinney, 27, told CNN he gave his daughter the nickname ‘cupcake’.
He said: ‘It was something I came up with.
‘When she came out, she was all cute and red with little brown eyes and I said “That’s my cupcake”.’
He told local reporters he spent the weekend searching abandoned buildings and schools for his daughter.
Dominic added: ‘I just want my daughter back. I’ll pay anything, I’ll put up anything.
‘Everybody knows Cupcake and I’ll do anything to bring that baby back home.’
Kamille is 3 feet tall, weighs 60 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair, according to the amber alert.
She was last seen wearing a pink T-shirt with a Minnie Mouse leopard print design, leopard print shorts and yellow, white and blue hair bows.
Birmingham Deputy Chief Scott Praytor told Al.com that investigators are asking any homes or businesses in the Avondale area near the Tom Brown Village public housing complex to share surveillance camera footage with police.
He added there is no indication the kidnapping is an issue over child custody.
If you have any information regarding this missing child, please contact the Birmingham Police Department at 205 254 0841; or call 911.
