Donald Trump holds Texas 'in win for US election race'

Donald Trump has won in Texas, keeping his hold over the state that he previously found success in during the 2016 election.

The president won over Joe Biden, but Texas has always leaned mostly Republican.

However, the Biden campaign was making a strong push to flip the state, but it ultimately wasn’t successful.

Texas gives 38 electoral college votes to Trump, who needs 270 to be re-elected as president.

It was initially called by Fox News, but has not been verified by other news outlets.

Trump won with 52.1% of the votes, with Biden collecting 46.5% of the votes.

Biden has won in liberal stronghold cities like California and New York, and is leading Trump in total electoral votes with 213 to Trump’s 136.

The president has had many wins in Republican states like Oklahoma, Mississippi and Ohio.

Trump is neck and neck with Biden in many key battleground states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. However, Trump won Florida, while it is likely that Biden has won Arizona.

Biden spoke to supporters on Tuesday in Wilmington, Delaware and urged supporters to keep the faith.

Trump tweeted that he is ‘up big’ and said that the Democrats are ‘trying to steal the election.’

This led to Twitter censoring the tweet with a warning that said it was misleading and carried false information.

Millions of votes were cast over the past few weeks and the polls officially closed on Tuesday.
