Donald Trump claims he ‘doesn’t have racist bone in body’ in series of tweets
Donald Trump has claimed he doesn't "have a racist bone" in his body – despite telling four opponents they can "go home" in a shocking Twitter attack.
The President said four prominent Democrats "originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe".
Although he didn't name them in last weeks' attack, he was referring to Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez – collectively known as The Squad.
The US President sparked outrage when he said they could "go back" to "the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came", accusing them of hating the US.
Three of them were born in the US, while Ms Omar moved to the United States as a child.
Today a rattled Trump denied racism, but launched a fresh tirade against the four Congresswomen.
The US House of Representatives is set to vote on a resolution to condemn Trump's tweets.
He posted: "Those Tweets were NOT Racist. I don’t have a Racist bone in my body! The so-called vote to be taken is a Democrat con game.
"Republicans should not show “weakness” and fall into their trap.
