Dog makes 57-mile journey to old home after her family moved

A dog made a miraculous 57-mile trek to her old home years after her family moved out.

The four-year-old Labrador, named Cleo, was apparently missing her old porch when she disappeared earlier this month in Olath, Missouri.

Colton Michael said his wife Britney first noticed Cleo on their porch nearly 60 miles away in Lawson, Missouri, but they had no idea whose dog she was.

‘She got out of her car and said, “Where did the dog come from?”‘ Michael told KMBC.

The couple said they found Cleo on the porch and she seemed nervous when they discovered her.

‘She wound’t let us quite come near her,’ Colton said, although he would later find out that their porch used to be one of Cleo’s favorite spots – more than two years ago.

‘November 2018, we moved in,’ he said.

The couple took Cleo to a vet and learned that she had a microchip After checking the chip, they realized that Cleo belonged to the family that used to live in their home.

‘Britney said, “That’s the people that used to live hear,’” Colton said.

Weeks earlier, Cleo’s owners posted about their missing dog. When the Colton’s called the dog’s family, they were in disbelief.

‘It’s the most bizarre story,’ Cleo’s owner, Drew, said.

‘Really, she’s everything to us and my mother…It just feels good to be reunited with her.’

No one knows how Cleo made the long journey, which would have required her to travel across a river at one point.

‘Its’ a mystery, something we will probably never know,’ Colton said.

‘Now that we know who she belongs to, if she pops up again, we know who to call.’
