Dayton shooting victim’s horrifying final words to dad of her kids in last call
A mum-of-three gunned down in a shooting in Ohio made a final horrifying FaceTime call to her partner telling him: 'Babe, I've been shot in the head' before she died.
Lois Oglesby, 27, was among nine people killed by Connor Betts as he rampaged through the streets of Dayton using a modified .223-calibre automatic rifle.
Lois, who had given birth to her third child two months ago, made a final call to the father of two of her children moments after she was shot on Sunday at around 1am.
The nursing student's partner Daryl Lee posted on Facebook about her final call, branding her "strong as f***".
Under the name Dee Lee, he wrote: "She FaceTimed me and said 'Babe I just got shot in my head, I need to get to my kids.'
"Like that's strong as f*** to hold off to call me.
"She was letting me know she loved me and to take care of these kids… I got you babe. I can't stop crying."
Lois leaves behind her newborn daughter Reign and six-year-old daughter Hannah.
Her cousin Derasha Merrett described Lois as a "wonderful mother, a wonderful person."
The horrifying shooting on Sunday lasted less than a minute but in that time nine people were killed and 27 wounded, including the gunman's younger sister Megan Betts.
Connor and Megan are the only two children of Stephen and Moira Betts of Bellbrook, Ohio, around 15 miles from downtown Dayton.
Megan, 22, was due to start her senior year at Wright State University's Department of Biological Sciences.
Dramatic video emerged showing hero police officers shooting and killing the gunman as he sprayed bullets into a crowd of terrified victims.
In the video, screaming revellers crouch down and run for their lives along a pavement as the 24-year-old, wearing body armour and black clothing, fires dozens of shots from a gun equipped with a “double-drum” magazine that could hold 100 rounds.
