The fire in the community of Fireside sparked on the morning of June 6, 2018. A week later, investigators said they believed the destructive blaze started in the basement of one of the condos, which was under construction.
The fire damaged 62 homes, including 20 condo units that were under construction.
At the time, 18-year fire investigator Lieutenant Jeff Avery said he’d seen some fairly significant fires, but in terms of the damage to the homes, vehicles and properties it was “the biggest one” he had investigated.
Cochrane RCMP are hoping anyone with information on the fire will come forward.
“Details can come in all sizes,” Const. Kary Moore said in a news release Tuesday.
“The information you have may not seem like much to you, but for the bigger picture it may be the piece we’re missing.”
“Members of the community know when there are strange vehicles in the area, suspicious behaviours being observed or knowledge of attempted and completed crimes,” the release stated.
Anyone with information on the fire is asked to call Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000 or contact Crime Stoppers.
