Central American migrants stuck in Tijuana face uncertain future

Central American migrants may have to wait for months for asylum in the US even as it holds talks with Mexico in Washington.

    Mexico’s new President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, has signed an agreement with his Central American counterparts, aimed at tackling the migrant issue at the United States border.

    Obrador hopes it will stop people migrating from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.

    It comes as Al Jazeera learned about asylum seekers being illegally pushed back into Mexico after reaching US soil.

    Al Jazeera’s Heidi Zhou-Castro reports from the border town of Tijuana.
