A stolen car involved in a police chase has smashed into the gates of Taylor Swift’s mansion, police say.
The vehicle crashed into a wall outside Swift’s Rhode Island home before ricocheting into the main entrance gate at a speed of around 35mph.
The 19-year-old driver, Shykeim Edwin Lewis, has been arrested and faces several charges, including reckless driving and receiving stolen goods.
Local police chief Shawn Lacey told the Westerly Sun that officers began tailing the car at about 1am and were forced to give chase.
Mr Lewis reached speeds of up to 65mph during the pursuit.
Two other occupants in the car – an 18-year-old and a 16-year-old – suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital.
A third man fled after the crash but was later found uninjured. The passengers in the vehicle will not face any charges.
Police believe the car, which did not have licence plates, was stolen in Connecticut.
