'Bully' shoots at girl, 12, carrying her infant brother and hits their mom
A 12-year-old girl holding her baby brother in her front lawn ran into her home to escape an apparent bully’s bullets – but one of them wound up hitting their mother.
Rubi Olivas was carrying her 11-month-hold brother Julian and watering tomato plants when a gunman emerged from a bush and fired several rounds at them.
Surveillance footage from the home in Kansas City, Missouri, shows Rubi walking next to a car when a man starts yelling and brandishes a gun.
Rubi dashes for the front door as the gunman, allegedly her bully, shoots at her. A woman can be heard screaming in the video obtained by KCTV.
‘The target was my 12 yr old daughter. The bully that shot at her shot about 14 shots and one of those shots hit me,’ said children’s mother, Rosa Olivas, in a GoFundMe page.
Rosa was shot in her upper right thigh. She has been hospitalized with a broken femur bone.
‘Thankfully my 12 yr old and my 11month old are fine,’ Rosa said. ‘My 12 yr old was outside watering tomatoes while carrying my 11month old baby, praise the Lord that was was able to run inside.’
The bullet hit Rosa, who was lying on the living room floor, in the moment that the door opened and her children ran safely inside.
‘I hear gunshots and I get up off the floor very fast,’ the mother told KCTV. ‘It did not give me no kind of time to think about anything.’
Rosa said she knows who the unidentified shooter is, and that he has been taken into custody.
The mother plans to move her family far away from the scene of the crime after she is discharged from the hospital.
‘We are needing to move from house… since my 12 yr old was the target,’ Rosa said in the GoFundMe page set up for medical bills and moving costs.
‘There is ZERO chances of us going back.’
