Baldwin fears for safety after Trump calls for 'retribution'
Alec Baldwin says he fears for his family’s safety after Donald Trump said there should be “retribution” for his satirical performance on ‘Saturday Night Live’.
Actor Baldwin said the president “signals people” to become angry “and then the actions flow from there”.
Last Saturday, he parodied the president’s press conference calling a national emergency over plans for a border wall.
Soon after the show aired, Mr Trump tweeted: “Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC!
“Question is, how do the networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows?”
Mr Baldwin responded: “I wonder if a sitting president exhorting his followers… constitutes a threat to my safety and that of my family?”
