Award-winning teacher, 30, 'sneaked into boy's house and sexually abused him'

An award-winning teacher sneaked into a 14 year-old boy’s house to sexually abuse him, and molested the youngster 12 times, it is claimed. Paula Stinson, 30, allegedly molested the youngster over a two week period both at the private Thales Academy in Rolesville, North Carolina, and his nearby home.

Stinson married her husband last March, with the couple buying a home together in September. Her alleged molestation was uncovered after the boy’s parents found inappropriate texts Stinson is accused of sending to the child. Subsequent interviews uncovered the alleged sexual contact.

Stinson has been fired from her job, and faces 12 felony counts of indecent liberties with a child. She made her first appearance in court on Monday morning. The scandal-hit teacher had been working as athletic director at Thales Academy for six years at the time of her arrest.

She was honored for her work by the Wake Forest Chamber of commerce last May.

A spokesman for Thales Academy told WRAL: ‘Mrs. Paula Stinson is under investigation by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office for alleged misconduct. Mrs. Stinson has been terminated as an employee of Thales Academy effective immediately.

‘Thales Leadership is actively communicating with the Wake County Sheriff’s Office and cooperating with their investigation.’
