Woman ordered to remove ‘skeleton strip club’ Halloween decorations outside home

A woman is showing serious backbone to defend her model skeleton pole dancers.

Angela Nava is going head to head with her homeowner's association after her Halloween decorations were slammed as "inappropriate" and officially reported.

Angela from Richmond in Texas, USA received a letter demanding that her dancing skeleton models must be removed from her front garden within 30 days.

The letter described her decorations as "offensively positioned."

Angela said: "It's modelled after an adult club. We just really had a good time changing the scene up every night.

"Every night, we change the positions of the skeletons, and it's really been just a great creative outlet for me."

The idea for a bit of what she thought was harmless fun, sparked for Angela during the early stages of the pandemic.

She continued: "We've all been cooped up and it's been just a terrible year.

"We've just decided if this brings a little bit of joy and a little bit of smiles to someone, then we're doing everything right."

Despite receiving an official letter through the post, Angela said she hasn't had neighbours approach her with complaints.

Angela said: "So far, up until this letter that I received last night, everybody who's come by has been incredibly supportive. My neighbours love it."

When Angela revealed there had been a complaint filed against her skeletons online, she was met with plenty of support.

Instead of taking the skeletons down immediately she has been convinced to keep them up over Halloween.

She said: "When I got the letter, I was a little sad.

"I thought, 'Okay, I'm just going to take it down. I'm going to comply. I'm going to take it down and just not do this anymore.'

"But then I got so much support off of Facebook, and I said, 'Forget it. People are having so much fun with this, and they love it, I'm going to continue to do it.'"
