Viola Davis responds to viral request to join ‘WAP’ video

Fans edit Cardi B and Megan’s sexy video to include the ‘How to Get Away with Murder‘ star, sharing clips of her famed character drinking and dancing

The Academy Award-winning actress, Viola Davis, shared two fan-made parodies that photo-shopped her into the hit music video, “WAP.”

In the first post, Davis shared an altered photo of herself on Kylie Jenner’s body with the caption “Who did this?” She followed it with several emojis including heart eyes. The post was retweeted by Megan Thee Stallion who is featured on Cardi B‘s song.

The tweet has been shared over 60,000 times with hundreds of thousands of “likes.”

Davis also shared a video that fans edited so that Cardi and Megan peek in a door and find her as her famed character, Annalise Keating from How to Get Away with Murder, drinking, and dancing.

She added the hashtag #HowToGetAwayWithWAP.

Cardi B retweeted that post saying, “I’m so fan out right now ya don’t even know.”

The video has been viewed more than 59 million times.

The inclusion of Jenner in the video has been a source of backlash. A petition to remove her was signed by more than 60,000 people. Jenner didn’t respond to the backlash, instead posting behind-the-scenes photos on Instagram.

While not mentioning Jenner directly, Cardi B appeared to defend Jenner being in the video on Twitter. She wrote that “it was so important to include different women, that are different races and come from different backgrounds but are so powerful and influential.”

“WAP” is a single from Cardi B’s sophomore album. The title and release date of the album has not been announced.
