Shocking video shows the moment a fireball erupts in an apartment lobby in the Bronx — after a man douses the doormat with gasoline.

The alleged arsonist walked into the vestibule of a building on Bailey Avenue near West 231st Street in Kingsbridge around 2:30 p.m. Sunday and began pouring the flammable liquid from a jug onto the floor, according to video obtained by FOX5.

The footage then shows the firebug setting the lobby on ablaze — instantly engulfing the room in flames.

“Everyone is petrified,” resident Yomara Hernandez told ABC7. “Everybody wants to see the video to see if we recognize the person from the community.”

The fire was quickly extinguished and no one was injured, police said. Investigators are still searching for a motive in the attack.

The suspect is still on the loose.
