Republican Lt. Gov. drives around waving a GUN and BIBLE in protest of Covid restrictions ‘impinging on her freedoms’

A REPUBLICAN Lieutenant Governor has driven around waving a gun and Bible in protest of the Covid restrictions "impinging on her freedoms."

Janice McGeachin released a video on Tuesday through the Libertarian group Idaho Freedom Foundation.

"We recognize that all of us are by nature, free and equal, and have certain inalienable rights," she said in the footage.

"Among which are enjoying and defending life and liberty, acquiring, possessing and protecting property and pursuing happiness and securing safety."

The Idaho lieutenant governor can be seen sat in the driver's seat of a van, with an American flag hanging from its roof, while holding the Bible.

McGeachin, 57, then smiles as she places a handgun on top of the religious text.

The video targeted the state's governor, Brad Little, who imposed restrictions following a spike in the coronavirus.

On Monday, gatherings of 50 or more people were limited in the state.

Following the news, McGeachin slammed the governor's decision on her Facebook page.

"I am disappointed that the governor believes our state needs to impose more restrictions on our already struggling businesses and limit the choice of individuals regarding their gatherings," she wrote.

"Respecting individual liberty and property rights must remain the foundation of all policy decisions in our state."
