Michelle Obama sends Twitter into meltdown after sharing heartwarming thanksgiving photo

The ex-FLOTUS took to Twitter to share a heartwarming photo of her family on Thanksgiving, much to the delight of her near 14 million followers. The photo in question featured Michelle in an elegant black and white dress, a grown up Sasha clad in a graceful black split leg maxi dress, as well as Barack in a green plaid shirt and Malia in a purple oversized dress.

Some 62 thousand people retweeted the image, with over half a million liking it.

It fulfilled what Michelle’s fans had been hoping for, with thousands of comments adoring the Obama family.

One Twitter user wrote: “Happy Thanksgiving to our forever American First Family.

“Your legacy will carry us through the difficulties of today and with your amazing husband, the true American President in our heart and mind,remembering his wise words we will endure. The girls are so beautiful.”

Another shared: “Thank you & your family for 8 years of devotion to the country.

“I feel like a distant auntie who watched the girls grow up.

“It was a joy.”

A separator user wrote: “Beauty and class! – we miss you guys!!!

Another drew attention to how much Malia and Sasha had grown up, and wrote: “Wow when did Malia and Sasha get so big wow, they’re beautiful.”

It’s not the first time Michelle has sent Twitter into meltdown.

Earlier this month, the ex-FLOTUS was snapped with American composer, singer, actor, playwright and producer, Lin-Manuel Miranda, most notably known for starring in the Broadway musicals, ‘In the Heights’ and ‘Hamilton’.

Michelle described Mr Miranda as a “good friend” of hers as she presented him with a prestigious award.

The award in question, the ‘Portrait of a Nation Prize’, is said to “reflect the mission of the National Portrait Gallery as handed down by Congress in 1962 by having made an impact on America’s history and culture,” according to Kim Sajet, the director of Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery.

Michelle accompanied her Twitter post with a caption complimenting Mr Miranda.

She said: “So proud to present the Portrait of a Nation Prize to my good friend, Lin-Manuel.

“Love this guy — with his melodies, rhymes, and nonstop energy, he’s painted as honest a portrait of our country as I’ve ever seen, lifting folks up through his work onstage and off.”

Fans of Michelle’s took to Twitter to congratulate the pair and compliment her on her dress and make-up.

One user said: “Two national treasures.”

Another said: “Congratulations!! So well deserved!! You both look wonderful.”

A separate user wrote: “What a wonderful portrait of Lin, and what a wonderful honour.

“Our country needs more men like him, and like you!”

Some fans even used the photo as an opportunity to call for Michelle to run for President in 2020.
