ISIS collapse: 24 terrorists KILLED after sparking riot at prison

The militants were armed with knives and killed three guards and five fellow prisoners. The central Asian nation’s Justice Ministry said the riot erupted late Sunday evening in the city of Vakhdat. The instigator of the riot was Bekhruz Gulmurod. His father – Gulmurod Khalimov was once a Tajik special forces colonel who joined ISIS in 2015.

Tajikistan’s Justice Ministry said Gulmurod has been killed in Syria since joining ISIS.

ISIS once controlled large parts of Syria and Iraq but has lost its strongholds.

They claimed responsibility for a prison riot in northern Tajik in November where 25 inmates and two security officers died.

An inmate attacked a guard and seized his assault rifle resulting in the deaths.

The riot was believed to have been instigated by a member of ISIS and followed another attack on Western tourists last summer.

In July 2018 a vehicle ploughed into a group of foreign cyclists about 60 miles south of Dushanbe.

Those who were inside the car “exited and stabbed the cyclists with knives,” according to a statement released by the US embassy in Tajikistan.

A Swiss, Dutch and two Americans were killed in the attack.

Home Secretary Sajid Javid has warned British ISIS fighters to stop fighting in Syria and leave the region or face up to ten years in prison.

He is preparing to restrict UK nationals from Idlib, Syria and give the Government more power to prosecute extremists by labelling the region a “designated area” under new counter-terror and border security rules.

This is the first time such power has been used.

Mr Javid said: “I’ve asked my officials to work closely with the police and intelligence agencies to urgently review the case for exercising this power in relation to Syria, with a particular focus on Idlib and the North-East.

“So anyone who is in these areas without a legitimate reason should be on notice.”

This legislation will force British nationals to leave the area within one month if they don’t have a valid reason to be there.

Mr Javid will reportedly announce this new power during a speech in London where it is likely he will unveil his Tory leadership bid.
