HUGELY popular face-morphing-app, FaceApp, is sending its users into hysterics as they realise a wizened version of Vladimir Putin bears an uncanny resemblance to the Night King from Game of Thrones.

Russian FaceApp users clocked that their president looks just like the supreme leader of the White Walkers when his face is morphed to look ancient.

FaceApp, developed in St Petersburg, Russia has been making waves on social media with its freakish functions that allow users to see what they'd look like older, younger, with a different hair colour or as a different gender.

The app uses AI to map a user's face, and can even change a picture of somebody who is frowning so that it looks like they're grinning – something which is technically very difficult to do.

The "old" function is the only one available for free, however, and creative FaceAppers have been using it for all sorts – from celebs, to politicians to the likes of  Harry Potter's Ron Weasley.

Hilarious users in Russia decided to try a picture of President of Russia, Vladimir Putin on the app – and soon realised that the filter made him appear not only older, but uncannily like a supernatural summoner of the dead.
