Homeless man arrested for attacking plainclothes NYPD captain

A homeless man who allegedly attacked a plainclothes NYPD captain has been arrested — but cops are still on the prowl for a second suspect, authorities said Wednesday.

The on-duty cop was at Tenth Avenue and West 41st Street when he was approached by an individual attempting to block his path around 6:30 p.m. Oct. 10, according to police.

“What you got? What you got?” the individual said.

Another man approached the cop and continued to grab and punch him in the face, police said. The cop was in stable condition, police added.

One of the two suspects, 19-year-old Elijah Hodge, was taken into custody at the 10th Precinct just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, according to police.

Hodge is facing one count of robbery and has five unsealed arrests, according to police sources.

Cops are investigating this as potentially gang-related.
