EuroMillions winner Jane Park suffers miscarriage weeks after announcement

EuroMillions winner Jane Park has suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage just weeks after announcing she was pregnant.

Jane, 23, is quoted as saying by Daily Record: "It's 4am and I'm wide awake but emotionally exhausted.

"I never thought I'd have to say this, but this pregnancy just wasn't meant to be.

"I've never cried this hard in my life but with my mum by side I know I'll get through this."

Her management team confirmed to Daily Star Online that Jane's pregnancy "did not make full term."

The baby would have been her first child.

Jane, who £1 million aged 17, announced she was expecting last month as she opened up about how excited she was.

She said at the time: “Seeing the positive-result pregnancy test was more exciting than seeing the winning numbers on my lottery ticket.

"It’s a crazy time but I am so happy."

She said she was not in a relationship with the child’s father – a friend called Barry.

Jane also opened up on how she struggled to form new relationships after her win because she was afraid people were only interested in her money.

“For the first time I feel I will have someone new in my life who loves me for me and not because of my bank balance – and that is such a comforting thing,” she said.

Jane was an office assistant and sharing a bedroom with her sister in her family’s Edinburgh council house in 2013 when she hit the jackpot after buying her first lucky dip ticket.
